Opioid treatment company launches teletherapy option

Symetria Recovery, an opioid addiction treatment specialist, recently launched a teletherapy option.

Virtual Intensive Outpatient Programing (vIOP) will allow patients to receive nine hours of counseling weekly in a virtual setting. Patients will not need to download software and will need only internet access.

“We help 87 percent of patients recover from opioid addiction,” Symetria Recovery CEO Drew McCartney said. “No other program, residential or outpatient, provides these outcomes. As leaders, we know this time of new stressors means more challenges for behavioral and mental health clients – so we must adapt our service to meet it. We expect vOIP outreach to augment the many ‘touches’ we seek with our patients, particularly during the current COVID-19 crisis.”

The company provides personalized, outpatient recovery care for opioid, heroin, and alcohol substance abuse that it calls The Symetria Method. The method combines psychiatry and medication-assisted treatment to reduce the risk of relapse.

Symetria Recovery operates six locations in Illinois and six in Texas.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois recognized all six Illinois locations with the Blue Distinction Center for Substance Use Treatment and Recovery designation. This designation allows patients suffering from a substance use disorder to find facilities that deliver quality treatment and care, Symetria Recovery said.
