Well Being Trust, a national foundation dedicated to advancing mental, social, and spiritual health, recently joined the Coalition to Stop Opioid Overdose.
The coalition is a group of local, regional, and national organizations dedicated to advancing legislative and regulatory policies addressing the opioid overdose epidemic. The coalition seeks to engage chronic pain and addiction specialists, individuals in and seeking recovery, family members, public health leaders, and policymakers to ensure legislation and policies get support and funding.
“We are thrilled to welcome Well Being Trust as the newest member of the coalition,” said Dr. Shawn Ryan, the American Society of Addiction Medicine’s Legislative Advocacy Committee chairman. “Well Being Trust has been a positive force for change in many ways. I look forward to collaborating with them as we work to advance policies that will empower people, increase access to addiction treatment and other critical healthcare services, and end the addiction and mental health crisis in the U.S.”
Well Being Trust has invested more than $55 million since 2017 in initiatives and cross-sector partnerships that improve mental health and well-being nationwide. The foundation also has worked to address policies, financing, and cross-sector collaboration that limit the improvement of mental health at a systems level.
